If so, make sure you give instructions on where others can look for you

The other day was a doozy. I gave instructions on where to meet someone. But then when I went to pick them up, I couldn’t find them.

What happened? I was to blame because I forgot my own words and placed myself thirty yards away, asking around if others had seen this person.

How could I get this simple thing all wrong? It’s really the case that I was the lost person who needed assistance, that I didn’t seem to know what I was doing.

This true incident reminded me of life. After all, it’s easy to get lost and it’s hard to fix things when you think you are on the right path, when maybe you forgot the simple instructions that helped you in life so many times before.

Why didn’t I follow the simple steps I had given earlier for picking up this person? All I had to do was go to the right spot at the right time. That seems simple enough.

But let me tell you something. I started to do that but I got distracted.

First, someone stopped me and said “they are on the way" which wasn’t true at all and got me thinking that I should continue at where I was at, which was not the correct spot at all.
