Lately, I’ve noticed that some sports teams are being labeled as underdogs in contests against teams that have better records. That makes sense, of course, because usually more wins are the result of factors like great players and excellent coaches.
But sometimes I see that a very good team is playing at home and is still listed as the underdog? I then think to myself, “The experts must be wrong here."
In reality, there is so much statistical data and analysis inputted into the equation that the numbers are probably right, at least when determining the team that is most likely to win.
I’m not much of a better or gambling so I leave that to the professionals. Also, I don’t give advice on this topic and this story is for entertainment purposes only.
One thing I have learned during the few times that I bet on sports is that there are things happening in the lives of changes l coaches and players that can’t be measured and that don’t show up in the statistics. Thus, you are missing crucial data that could really help you determine the winner.
