Life is not so easy these days. When it comes to shopping for groceries, it takes a lot of work to stretch your money to make it last.
Most families buy groceries a few times a month, if not every single week. It is a big expense that is full of challenges.
There are many things to think about:
- Cost
- Value
- Freshness
- Variety
- Personal preferences
- Special diets
- Nearness of the market
- Coupons and discounts

There are plenty of ways to save money on your grocery shopping. That doesn’t mean buy a bunch of low-cost junk food. No, not at all.
Yes, you can buy some snack items, but not too many. You want a healthy diet, especially if you have growing children in the household.
Here are some suggestions:
- Buy fresh veggies that have bright colors, like spinach and tomatoes
- Include fresh fruit
- Avoid processed foods
- Look for meats that are low in fat
- Add extra vegetables to the cart that you can use for soup

You don’t have to shop at an expensive grocery store. Look for a market or grocer with great values, good prices, and quality food. Then keep going back there and keep them in business.
Do the hard work of keeping a budget and limit the amount of processed food that you buy. Stock up on healthy food that is good for the body, the soul, and the mind.
