Shopping discounts seem rare these days and maybe that has become a problem
If you are like me, you like a good deal.
I like a great deal. That’s right. I prefer a big discount and free shipping and everything else that I can get.
This year I was hoping to find some great bargains during Black Friday sales.
But guess what?
I didn’t find anything at all. Now there were plenty of advertisements shown in the weeks and months leading up to the last two weeks of November.
- Early Black Friday!
- Pre Black Friday Sales Now!
- Special discount sales today only!
But I have learned that when there are sales happening every day of the year, like in a few places downtown, then you get the feeling that you will never get a discounted price on anything at all.
What’s Going On These Days?
I think that many stores are barely making it these days. Even the big giant websites could be facing challenging times. Because of this, I think the days of extra large savings and discounts are really long gone.
There are new shifts happening. I noticed that all of the discounted products that I wanted to buy required an ongoing membership with that online retailer. I’ve stopped doing that anywhere and no longer want to subscribe, partly because I feel pressured to buy things more often.
Less is More
This year I will not be buying as many gifts as I did the previous two years. It doesn’t make sense any more.
Now is the time to be saving more money in the bank. Tough times are coming, I believe, and cutting back on expenses is the name of the game.
After all, the holidays are for the children. Give them memorable experiences and fun trips to remember. Let everyone laugh and enjoy themselves as much as possible.
