Don’t they want our good money?

I just have one question.

Only one.

Don’t they want our business? Aren’t they interested in repeat business? Do they realize that we are real human beings?

Okay, that was more than one question, but it’s all really one single idea.

Granted, I know that every shopping experience is going to be stressful and full of challenges. It’s the real world these days and the stress is real and palpable.

“Save money with our new value meal for kids," said the sign at a local fast food restaurant.

Well, I do like bargains. Lately those are pretty hard to find. And don’t get me started about how every restaurant has been hiding the value meal or low-cost items, or eliminating them entirely.

Anyway, so we buy the new value meal. And what do you think happened? Every single thing in the meal has been reduced in size or quantity or both. I kid you not. Shrinkflation doesn’t even begin to describe what happened. Seriously, I can’t even believe this new reality in California. The food was the smallest I have ever seen before in my life, like it was some magic trick or something. Unbelievable.
