Farming Fun
Looking toward the future
I think I would like to work on a farm.
Okay, I’m not saying it would be easy.
I’m sure the hours are long and the work is exhausting.
But I really love animals and I like big open spaces.
Farm life is not for everyone, of course, but it is a dream of mine.
When I retire one day, the first thing I’m going to do is see if I have enough money for a little farm and ranch.
What would I do with it?
I would have chickens and henhouses and fresh eggs every day. Okay, sure, I would have to worry about foxes and coyotes but I would figure out a way to solve that problem.
I think I would like a little pond and stock it with fish and make sure there were plenty of trees around the pond so I could fish in the shade.
What else?
Of course I would have a couple of dogs, some goats, a few pigs, and maybe some horses.
I could grow my own food too, and I would also have a small vineyard to grow table grapes and wine grapes.
I think all of this sounds wonderful. Even more, I would have a little tractor to drive around the farm.
