How To Help Your Hope Spring Eternal
Strategies to keep believing in yourself and your future
You are talented, smart, and energetic. Yet sometimes life gets you down and things look bleak.
We all go through these parts of our lives when things are great and then they start to go downhill. Usually we keep going because we are resilient and we know that there will be ups and downs in life.
But what about in those particularly bad times? There will come a time when we things don’t look so good, when options are limited, when there are few people around to provide help.
There are things you can do to keep fighting for your own future. There are ways to use your wits and wisdom to survive. There are strategies available that you can rely on.
I believe that hope is what really helps us in times of need, when we are in a tough spot, when we’re running out of options. Hope gives us a little spark of encouragement when we need it. Hope helps us get out if bed when we don’t feel like it.
But how can you keep hope alive when so many things are going wrong in your life? You have to find a way, even if for your own survival.
Here are my suggestions on how to help your hope spring eternal:
- Keep your dreams alive. Did you ever have a dream job of doing something specific, like being a florist, jewelry maker, or party planner? Even if you are not able to find paid work in your dream vocation, think of doing it on the side. Your hope for this dream can keep you motivated.
- Do what you love. Okay, you may not be able to get paid to pay professional baseball. But if you have a strong passion for your local hockey team, maybe there is paid work there for you. Your hope to be a paid employee of your favorite sports team is a powerful motivator.
- Get closer to your desired destination. I know someone who hopes to own a small farm one day. How can he keep that hope alive? He can find out which states have families who own and operate small farms. He can calculate the cost of the farm land and other expenses. He can write all of this town and keep researching.
- Cut expenses. A lot of people lose hope because they have lots of bills and then a sudden job loss happens. It is always a good thing to reduce costs and find savings where you can. But even if the bills pile up and there’s no money to spare, start working on your backup plans. Some cities and states are a lot more affordable than other places.
These are just a few ideas that I have. There are many more, of course. There are people specially trained in all kinds of ways to provide career guidance, emotional support, and financial skills training.
If you are feeling down too long about things, make sure you seek professional help right away. There are free telephone numbers you can call and they can help. Seek guidance from the experts.
We are all in this together so we need to provide encouragement and support. We need to keep giving hope to all who need it. Hope is a powerful force and it can help us succeed.
