If you are a writer and a fan of the written word, you may at one time face the dreaded writer’s block. It is a real thing but it is not too dangerous.

Writer’s block hits for a number of reasons. It is unhelpful, of course if you are on a deadline.

There are ways to keep writing and to overcome writer’s block. Here are my suggestions.

  • Take a break
  • Get some exercise
  • Do something else to give your mind a rest
  • Drink your favorite beverage
  • Take a shower

I have experienced writer’s block myself a number of times. Sometimes I do things other than the suggestions I’ve already mentioned.

  • Type really fast
  • Write a bunch of ideas on a paper and pick the best one
  • Rearrange the order of what you have written so far
  • Add photos or artwork

You may come to a point where you don’t know what to write. That’s okay. Try some of my suggestions or some of your own. You can get through writer’s block and love to tell the tale.
