The new year arrived. It is here. We are now in 2021 but it doesn’t seem much different than 2020.
What is the deal? It seemed like there would be all kinds of positive changes with the new year but not much has changed.
The reality is that rarely does everything change all at once. It is usually the case that change is slow. Positive change happens but it is a gradual process.
How can you bring your positive excitement into the new year and sustain it ask year long? There are plenty of ideas for that.
- Keep focused on what motivates you. If exercise is your thing, keep excited about all of these opportunities throughout the new year. If you love sports, keep track of the big sports events and remind yourself on them.
- Stay positive. Attitude is really important. Keep your focus on how things are getting better or how they can get better and don’t lose that optimism.
- Congratulate yourself. Are you making progress towards a goal? Are things getting better in other ways? Give yourself as acknowledgment of your efforts.
- Make progress. If you have big dreams for the new year, make sure to keep on making steady progress toward the goals. Plan each step of the way and keeping doing the work that is required of you.

Things will not always be easy on the new year and we don’t know what 2021 will bring. One thing for sure is that we can rely on our strength, our skills, and our determination.
Every day brings me challenges and we need to face them with courage. If things get difficult, we can remind ourselves of what we need to do.
- Stay positive.
- Work hard.
- Show up on time.
- Be professional.
- Do our best.
- Meet high standards.
There will be challenges in this new year. But if we help, support and encourage each other, we can achieve quite a lot in 2021.
