Things are a bit too calm these days
Do you ever get the feeling that something is not right?
That it’s just a matter of time until the next shoe drops?
That the inevitable is on the way?
I’ve been getting these feelings every day and night, and I try not to think about it. Believe me, I sleep better just believing that everything is going to be fine.
WHAT IS WRONG?
The problem is that there is nothing wrong right now. I mean, generally speaking, most people are working and making money. Stores are open. Restaurants are welcoming customers. Shops are busy and delivery trucks are dropping off packages every day.
Then, my friend, what is the matter?
Okay, let me tell you. I’ve got a few things on my mind.
Yes, the stock market is poking me in the ribs every once in a while. Why? A lot of experts believe that it is way, way overvalued and that a financial avalanche is on the way.
I hope not. What should I do about it? I’m sure I will end up scared as a rabbit because I was scarred during the last financial meltdown. No, not this time, no way will I repeat my personal emotional meltdown from before. I will stop myself no matter what.
I get it that inflation must be stopped because prices are skyrocketing. I know that the medicine is necessary. But come on! High interest rates are going to crush everybody. The economy can’t take it.
Like in the original Star Trek and Scotty says, “I’m giving her everything she’s got, Captain. Any more and she’s going to explode.”
I can feel people getting worried. I mean, look at the increased crime and lawlessness. It’s happening because some people are really struggling these days and they are running out of options.
I’m not saying that crime isn’t wrong. It needs to be addressed. Innocent people are involved and that’s not right.
