It’s nominating week, as you may have heard, and lots of people are gathering around video screens to watch the nomination process.
It’s my turn.
I nominate The Sun for President of the Suns.
Granted, I don’t know how many stars there are in this universe, and I certainly couldn’t tell you how many galaxies and universes there are in the total sum of outer space.
Maybe other suns have a better relationship with their planets and maybe their people live longer and happier lives.
But I don’t care.
I hereby declare, under the rules of my just-now-created nominating procedure, that The Sun is the very best and that The Sun is our best hope to win this contest.
I have always had a good relationship with The Sun and I know I can depend on it.
Okay, honestly, that summer in Alaska when The Sun wouldn’t set except for one hour a day bothered me a lot. I couldn’t sleep and it was weird for me. But then I left Alaska and then things went back to normal.
And yes, the whole thing with daylight savings time is confusing. I’m pretty sure that The Sun didn’t come up with that idea so no hard feelings.
Please join me in recognizing The Sun as our candidate for President of the Stars.
Clap your hands, please, but no high-fives or hugging.
