You either win or you lose in this life

“We can leave early," I said.

So we got things ready in a hurry in the morning.

“We need to leave in an hour."

“We are not going to make it," I replied.

But then, unbelievably, we caught the last train.

It felt great!

Then, we relaxed a bit for a while.

“What about the ferry?"

“Maybe we can catch the early one," I answered. We just have to get there soon enough.

Unfortunately, as we turned a corner, the ferry took off without us.

I couldn’t believe it.

“There’s a second one on the way," said somebody in line.

Okay, so soon enough we were on the big ferry on a beautiful Sunday and the blue water was spectacular to see.

At last, after a very long trek, we got to the ballpark for the game.

As the employees scanned our tickets, I looked around and nobody was passing out what I was hoping to see.
