I’m Not Sleeping Well
Tips on getting better sleep
I didn’t sleep much at all this week.
It’s true.
Honestly, it feels like I don’t get any quality sleep any more. I don’t recall a good night’s sleep all summer long.
What’s the problem?
Well, there are a few things:
- I worry about things too much
- I drink too much coffee
- And I sit too much when I work
What can I do differently so that I sleep better at night?
- Exercise during the day. Yes, this definitely helps, and I don’t mean take a walk around the block. I’m going to have to really exercise at multiple points in the morning and afternoon. It needs to get to the point where I am physically tired and that will help.
- Reduce my coffee intake. This is going to be difficult but it has to be done. Often I find myself finishing my last cup of coffee in late afternoon. That can’t continue. I need a stopping point.
- Lastly, take control in life. This might help me stop worrying so much.
Another thing is the sun and the morning light that wakes me up. Eventually it will start getting dark again in the mornings and that will help me sleep.
Recently I’ve been seeing dark circles around people’s eyes and I worry that one day it will be me. So I am definitely going to do whatever I can to get more good quality sleep at nighttime.
