Is Your Writing On The Way?
No time like the present!
“We’re burning daylight!"
That’s what I remember from my youth, from when I slept in a little too late on the weekends.
“We’ve got plenty to do today,” was what I often heard next.
Now I appreciate those words even more than I did then, because I desperately wait for the weekend to arrive and I cling to every moment of Saturday and Sunday.
Writers need to be working on something all of the time. I remember my time in college went by so fast because I did stuff for the student newspaper, I was involved in the poetry anthology, and I created an undergraduate research journal. Looking back, I was always writing, editing, or working on some publication.
I remember student meetings where writers had to have something to discuss, where you had ideas either for yourself or for the publication. You had to always be ready to participate!
What are you working on these days? That’s a rhetorical question, of course, so you do not have to tell me. In fact, maybe it’s best that you keep it a secret. Just keep working, writing and editing until it’s time to publish…
