Today, for some reason, I was thinking about the famous actor and singer Kenny Rogers.
Remember him? He was the best. He had plenty of big hits throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
When To Walk Away
I really liked the song about the gambler and especially knowing the importance of knowing when to walk away or when to run.
There is a lot of knowledge in being able to understand timing in life and knowing about when you have overstayed your welcome.
For example, today I found myself in a stressful situation. I was around others and I could tell that things were not going my way and I had no control.
“What do you want to do?" I asked the person who had arrived with me.
“I don’t know."
Part of me just wanted to admit defeat, move on in life and get out of there. But then, I was still trying to “hold’em" and I wasn’t ready to “fold’em."
Finally a supervisor arrived and repeated what the other employee said. Right then I knew it was time to…
