It was a beautiful day today in California.

Yes, there is rain on the way over the next few days. There could be storms as well.

But today, at least where I live, the sun was shining and the weather was warm and nice. The day was very fine indeed.

Wonderful days make me want to be positive and upbeat about the future. After all, there is so much good and kindness in the world.

There are reasons to be thankful:

• Your health
• The family you have
• Steady employment
• Good nutritious food
• Great friends
• And so much more

We’re going to need a lot of confidence and strength in the months and years ahead. The future is uncertain, but that uncertainty seems to be getting stronger and more potent as the days go by.

There are things we can do to prepare:

• Have a good attitude
• Be productive
• Stay friendly
