Life Is Fragile
How a recent death in the family got me thinking about the fragility of life
This week one of my family members passed away.
Suddenly.
You don’t expect these things to happen, especially if the person is healthy and not much older than me.
Right?
You just think that a person can get medical help in a hurry, that they can be rescued in time, and that modern medicine will work miracles.
But sometimes circumstances dictate reality and there is no control.
What Happened?
I won’t go into too many details here, but I will say that there were contributing factors that led to the final outcome.
First, this person was all alone when the emergency started. That’s a very big problem because nobody knows that there is an event happening and time is of the essence.
So this is something to remember for myself and others as we grow older. It might be a good idea to have others nearby to check in on us every once in a while. This is for safety and for keeping us alive, and these visits don’t have to be mandatory or required.
Second, a recent event happened to this person that was, most likely, related to the final outcome. It’s hard to know for sure at this point, but…
