There is so much beauty in the world and it is so easy to enjoy it. If you have a lover who cares about nature, then that makes the journey together a wonderful time.

Walking around a local lake can be one of the most relaxing things you can do during the week. It can also be invigorating.

“Let’s go before it gets crowded," said my lover as she tied her running shoes.

I love it when my lover is in a hurry.

I followed her out the door. It was 7:00 a.m. on a warm spring Sunday morning.

The smells of the lake invited us as we waited for the crosswalk to turn green. Then we crossed carefully. Once on the other side, we were where we wanted to be.

“Not a cloud in the sky," I said.

She smiled at me and the sun shine off her cheeks. We were at the northwest corner of the lake, our start and end point. It was three miles around the lake.

“Try and catch me," she said as she took off.

She knew I loved the chase. But given he speed and stamina, she was always in charge. We needed endurance in a lot of the things we did together.

We jogged together into the sun. We went south first until the sidewalk took a sharp turn to the east.

My lover’s name was Katherine. We had only recently became lovers though now I couldn’t imagine a time when she wasn’t in my past or my future.

“Stop here," she said as she jogged around me slowly. She never liked making full stops.

She snuck around me and kissed me suddenly, longingly, and we were all alone at that point of the journey around the lake.

“There’s more of that when we get back to the apartment."

The sun was fully risen at this point and we jogged along quickly. At the halfway point my lover spotted something.

“Look," she said. “Two swans."

We paused for a while to watch them.

“I bet they’re lovers for life," she said with a wink back toward me.

The sun beat down on our necks as we jogged the second part of the lake. I knew I was a happy man that morning as I dreamed of our future lives together.

Soon we were back at the apartment.

“Hurry up and join me in the shower," she said.

Sometimes I don’t mind hurrying up at all.
