It was windy and cold, but that was fine

We followed the directions and paid the entrance fee. Then we took the first left and parked the car.

“Let’s do the big slide together," she said as she held my hand tightly.

It was just after 4:00 p.m. and the park would be closing soon. Because of the rain, we were the only ones at the playground.

We climbed the tall structure. And then we squeezed inside the top of the very long metal slide.

She held me tight.

“Promise me we will always be able to find work and support ourselves," she said.

“I promise we will always be able to find work and support ourselves.”

We went down the slide slowly as she kissed me.

We left the play area and drove left to the marina where we parked the car. I turned off the engine.

She said, “Promise me that our future children will always be healthy and strong."

We strolled to the end of the walkway where water was on both sides of the path. The wind was cold and harsh. The waves were strong.

We were all alone and the rain fell mercilessly. We could sense the dangers and troubles that life could offer.

“Promise me that you will love me always and never leave me no matter what."

She kissed me.

I said, “I promise I will love you always and will never leave you no matter what."

We didn’t want to leave but we saw the park ranger driving around to make sure people knew it was time to go.

The rain fell harder and she kissed me again. We stopped then and there and stayed as long as possible so we could capture the beginning of our endless future together.
