Pump Up The Quality
The importance of great writing that lingers and is written successfully
Do you remember that movie named “Pump Up The Volume"?
I do.
It was a low-key film about a basement radio station where a teen was tapping into hidden frustrations in society. At least that is my interpretation of it.
Christian Slater was a big star back then and he still does acting work now, of course.
I got to thinking about this film lately, and how the title relates to writing. A long time ago I thought that content volume was the most important focus.
I was wrong.
The strategy should be “Pump Up The Quality."
Why is that?
Quality content will last. It will be read and shared by others. It will lead to more followers and subscribers.
Quality should be the number one goal. And not just in the content of your stories. There should be quality in the comments that you give, if possible. There should be quality in the support you give to others too.
So the next time you think about trying to increase your total number, I recommend that you shift to focusing on increasing your overall quality.
