Push To Open Your Brand New Medium Content
Stories are waiting to be created by you
This morning, on my commuter train, I saw a sign that said, “Push to open."
Simple enough.
All you have to do is push and the door will open at the next stop.
Is the sign necessary? Well, yes, because on some trains the doors do not automatically open.
You have to do something to get the doors to open. You make an effort. You go forward and push and then things will happen for you.
Effort Is Required
The sign got me thinking about writing and creating new content, here on Medium or anywhere else.
The doors will not open automatically.
New content is not going to land on your lap or fall out of the sky. It doesn’t happen like that.
You need to give your content a push. That will help it get started.
What kind of push?
You can make it something tempting and tantalizing. Think of a unique perspective or a distinct story idea. Make the idea so interesting that you cannot resist writing about it at the very next opportunity.
You might make your push a competitive one. Look at other writers and watch them create interesting new content on a regular basis. They show up, right? You can do it too.
You might make a push that helps you connect with other writers. A witty comment goes a long way. A thoughtful comment can lead to new conversations.
Today, I challenge you to push yourself in some fashion. Push to open your content and get it started on the road to becoming a story that you can share with the world.
