Take control of your worries

There is often a wave of fear that seems to come out of nowhere.

Last year everything seemed normal and the future seemed bright as can be. Then out of nowhere, the year 2020 arrived and the pandemic changed everything about the future. It was a black swan event, a rarity that could not have been predicted.

Now, as we near the last few months of the year, we are all at least a bit stable. But most of us are not out of the woods.

Fear has arrived. Big time.

Normally, fear can be managed. You can do things to protect yourself and plan for the future.

But sometimes there is a lot to overcome.

How can you take control of your fear? Here are some suggestions.

  • Identify what is causing you to worry
  • Write down things you can do to help
  • Think of people in your life who can assist
  • Find ways to cut expenses
  • Focus on saving money
  • Plan for a life of buying fewer things
  • Enjoy the simple activities that give so much pleasure

Fear can be overcome. Big bills and expenses can be repaid over time. But make sure you continue to love those around you.

The stresses of life can overwhelm us, but there are always solutions. Consider all of the opportunities in your life. Count your blessings. Put faith in your religion or your God.

We will make it through this year and we will all be stronger. Just continue to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that there is love in this world.
