Exercise is generally recommended for almost everyone. A lot of people around the world are becoming too sedentary, so people need to get out more and move around.
Walking is a great form of exercise but sometimes it may not be vigorous enough. I recommended taking steps and stairs if it is right for you. Make sure you consult a health professional if you are unsure.
As it is well known that taking steps and stairs has great physical benefits, in this article I will discuss some of the mental health benefits that I think you can get from doing steps and stairs on a regular basis.

- A nice view at the top. I have noticed that the view seems to get better as you go higher. If you have steps in your town, try sometime to go to the top of them. Then stop and enjoy the view. If you have a camera, maybe you can take a picture and post it on social media. People like beautiful pictures of their town or other places.
- Blood flow. When you move more body parts, such as knees and joints, I think you love the blood more in your body. It’s important to get more blood flowing regularly to your brain. A lot of people get bothered or burdened by life’s troubles and can’t stop thinking about them. So often a doctor or health professional will recommend exercise. This, I believe, is for reasons such as getting people’s minds on other things and cleaning out the clutter of thoughts in the brain.
- Meeting people. A lot of people like taking steps or stairs and they would do it a lot more if they had company. One idea is to get friends together to do this and you will have a great time getting fit and improving your mental and physical health.

- Out and about. One thing I like about doing steps and stairs is that you get around your town. If you’re looking for a job,you might find a sign or notice about an opening somewhere. Or if you’re looking for something to do, you’re likely to find it.
- Meeting your love. Okay, exercising is not always the easiest way to meet new romantic partners. But it might work if your friends invited their friends to your exercise group. You never know when cupid’s arrow will fly, so be ready.
I hope you can use some of these suggestions. I know that I love exercise for my body and I often try to encourage myself to take the steps and stairs whenever I can. I hope you can find some that work for you.
