A lot of people say that doing what you love is the right thing to do in life, that if you make your vocation your vacation you will never work a day in your life.
But can people really do what they love and make a living at it? Well, of course they can, because look around at all of the happy people in the world who can’t wait to go to work, who are excited about the next day on the job.
Here are some reasons why doing what you love can make life better and more enjoyable:
- You look forward to every day
- You bring excitement
- You have more energy
- You work harder
- You try harder
- You are noticed
- You get promoted
- You get big raises
- You get your own company
But how do you move into the career that you want without losing your day job and regular income? You have to take small steps to get there. Here are some examples:
- Start small. This means getting your foot in the door. Maybe you can volunteer on the weekends. Another idea is to start a small business.
- Network. This is crucial. Try to meet people who work in your desired profession. You can find people on LinkedIn and ask them questions.
- Show your passion. If you have a desire to work in a certain industry, show people that you’re doing it. Share pictures of your activity and you can get noticed.
