Words Matter For Medium Success And Reading Time
A good word selection helps a lot!
Recently I went to San Diego and asked a hotel employee for good places to see that were within walking distance.
“The Oxford building is great," he said, in addition to some other suggestions.
Frankly, I had no interest in seeing the Oxford building because it sounded boring and uninteresting.
Why?
The description is not so great. Maybe they should change the name to something more descriptive, interesting or captivating.
“Who is in charge of marketing?” I wondered to myself.
That experience got me thinking. Isn’t this what writers are supposed to be doing? Don’t content creators on Medium have a goal for maximum word efficiency? I do believe that yes is the answer.
Words matter a lot for writers anywhere and everywhere on the planet. They are most important for our success.
