Opinions are important.
There, I said it.
Your opinion matters a lot. That’s because it’s very true and also it can help you as a writer. I really mean that.
How is that possible?
You see, most of the writers here on Medium, and elsewhere for that matter, are not fact-finding reporters who report the news as objectively as possible.
That’s not us. We’re not reporters. Well, we can be any time we want. Definitely. We can shift gears and report on an event or happening by being as factual as possible and do the reporting on the who, what, when and where.
Most of the time we are opinion writers, and I speak for myself when I say that. It certainly may include other people, but I’ve learned that it’s often better not to be too general or too specific.
Opinions Definitely Matter
Why is it important to remember that opinions matter? Well, because it makes stories and articles interesting when writers give their opinion on things.
