The written word is so powerful.

You can uplift a person with a sincere message.

You can destroy someone with a sequence of syllables.

How can that help you as a writer on Medium? There are plenty of ways. The hard part is finding the method that works best for you and your personal community.

YOUR WORLD

Your experiences are often quite different from other people around you. Being a different gender is one large set of different experiences. Living in a different part of town can also immerse you in a universe of contrasting experiences.

What is uplifting to you? A simple morning greeting with a few words could be all that it takes for you to have a great day.

For those reading your work online, you may need to write some effective words within your message of positivity. Beyond that, you may need to layer a tone of determination between the lines. You could also supplement with quotes or expressions that have worked with others.

Connecting with the public can be challenging given the array of life expectations and motivations. It may help to establish where you are coming from, both literally and figuratively, so that…
