You Showed Up So Thanks
It really does mean a lot, you know
You find out who your friends are when things go south and you need a helping hand.
One time I had to move from one place to another. I couldn’t do it myself, partly because two items were super heavy.
“I’m busy," said one person.
“Don’t have a truck," said another.
Finally, I mentioned this to a co-worker.
“Well, how long would it take?"
“Five minutes maximum," I answered.
“Are you sure?"
“I promise. We just need to move two items out of the kitchen.”
“That’s fine. We can help."
When they arrived on Saturday morning, I said, “You showed up so thanks for that."
We finished in two minutes and I remember the fact that they helped me when nobody else would do so.
One time I was at a low point in life. I had lost my sense of direction and was just adrift, sleeping in a campground somewhere near Flagstaff.
